For 6 years, the volunteers at Bocawatch have gotten the truth out about what’s going on at City Hall and given voice to the resident. Boca Raton has a special Election August 28 for Boca Mayor and Boca City Council Seat A. Here’s Jack’s 411 on Boca’s Seat A race.

Born and raised in Chicago and a graduate of Loyola University. I went on to study at Chicago Kent Law, part of Illinois Institute of Technology, but stopped short to serve in the US Army for 3 years. Moved to Boca Raton with my family 35 years ago and began a 32 year career with IBM as Sales Executive and Business Director Manager with the Manufacturing Technology Center - now the Don Estridge School. Volunteering is in my blood, I especially enjoy working to raise money for children with special needs at the Jewish Community Center and look back fondly on the years spent coaching soccer and supporting Boca Jets football. My two children attended Addison Mizner, St Andrew's, Boca High, and are both graduates of University of Florida. If I sound like a fighter I am, beat cancer three times and I support all survivors who face that same challenge.

  1. Regarding Andy Thomson –
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves!

  2. Hey Jack, do some research. You asked how he is a community leader or public servant, here they are:

City of Boca Raton’s Education Task Force, Vice-Chair
City of Boca Raton’s Community Advisory Panel, Member
Palm Beach County Transportation Planning Agency, Citizens Advisory Committee representing Boca Raton
Federation of Boca Raton Homeowner Associations, Millpond Representative
Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Bell Education Foundation, Board of Directors
    Boca Raton Bowl, Community Captain
You should be wary of someone who uses an opponents attack ad as his source of information for his commentating. Sorry Jack, you are obviously in the Kathy camp which is great but for you but you are not being honest about your review of the candidates.

  3. Juan, What you site as credentials all happened after Thomson was defeated with only 40% of the vote by Andrea O’Rourke in March 2017. The list Jack cited was clearly marked March 2017 and establishes the baseline for Jack’s point that those activities are “Johnny come lately”. And arguably, those committees have accomplished little. I suppose you would say it’s only because he just started with them which, well, is exactly Jack’s point.

What should concern you as a Thomson supporter is the statement in the Thomson flyer that he has no ties to special interests yet nearly 50% of campaign donations are from special interests. I mean really Juan? Geez.
