Boca Raton’s season has officially begun….generally speaking, the season begins with the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce dinner; an event that many feel is a must attend event. Well, this Chamber event actually did take place on Saturday evening, October 28, 2017 amidst one of the worst rain storms of the year….

From now on, rain or shine….Boca’s social calendar will be filled with multiple events on a weekly basis…so many so that only Councilman Weinroth will be able to attend them all….

Not to miss a beat, yesterday, the Councilman kept to his plan…

Yesterday, as a glorious seasonal start, the Boca Ballet presented its 26th Annual “A Princely Affair” to a Sunday afternoon audience of some 250 art lovers from the greater Boca Raton area.  What a spectacular presentation.  Local and professional dancers, (Sarah Lane and Aran Bell appeared with permission from American Ballet Theatre), performed excerpts of this season’s offerings to the delight of a very captive audience.

The Boca Ballet Theatre Guild gratefully acknowledged the Chairs and Honorary Chairs for their support and dedication. Co-Chaired by Zizah Preble and Andrea Virgin, the event was fun filled and entertaining.  Honorary Co-Chairs, Arlene Herson and Edith Stein were heard to sing the praises of this organization and provide example of the ever-present generosity of Boca Raton society.

Make no mistake….the Ballet, a non-profit organization, has helped local talent to excel in the cultural arts and has done this over a sustained period of time.

Readers and the community, in general, should recognize these efforts.  BocaWatch encourages all to provide support in whatever manner and at whatever level is within your reach.  Purchase tickets to performances in their upcoming season; donate cash, cars, boats…most anything of value for them to convert….and, most important provide your endearing emotional and intellectual support to this outstanding organization in the cultural arts sector of Boca Raton society….

To the Ballet’s leaders and staff…words of encouragement often heard in the performance world….”Break a Leg”….and best wishes to your short, medium and long rang goals….Al Zucaro
